"It's a Good Day to be a Webmaster"

If you're getting started in website design, development or are interested in becoming a webmaster then this is your lucky day!

We're also getting started with our Designer, Developer and Webmaster sections on our website and to launch them we are running our "Its a Good Day to Be a Webmaster" competition.

How to enter:

1. If you haven't already done so register on our forums.

2. Read the rules of this competition below or on our forum here and make a post stating which competition you are entering.

3. Start on your entries and get them in before 31 May.

Design Competition

Brief
You have been contacted by an underground organisation called HackNet - they desperately need a new design that represents what their organisation stands for passion, dedication and creativity. They've said they prefer dark colours but that shouldn't influence your design in anyway. As long as it captures who they are they'll be happy. Throwing in a logo won't hurt either.

Developer Competition

Brief
HackNet has heard about you - they've heard that your an elite coder - so time has come to show your skills. They need to transmit multiple messages to their team mates, the only problem is that they need these messages to be secure. Your task is to create an encryption and decryption mechanism. Due to the sensitive nature of their messages it can't use any technology that has existed before (e.g RSA). They need you to create something unique and uncrackable.

- Must be in PHP
- Judged on speed of encryption, ease of decryption
- Cannot use any existing encryption techniques

Webmaster Competition

Brief
So you're the ultimate webmaster then - HackNet needs a site, and they need it fast. Its up to you to pull it together - either get a team or hack it yourself. They need you to setup their site with the following sections:

HomePage
-About Us (a bit about who HackNet is)
-Hack.NET (Password protected insider only system allows HackNet users to pass messages between each other)
-Hack.Back (A guestbook system that allows HackNet friends to shout out to all)

- Must be in PHP, XHTML, CSS
- Judged on creativity of putting client brief together, security of overall system, presence of bugs.
- Cannot use existing scripts.
